Building a coaching engine that knows what to prioritize from a move and board state is a hard problem to solve with lots of edge cases. AI is surprisingly bad at chess, and the current coaching engine does not currently use it as it tends to make things up. Instead we rely on Stockfish, Maia, a proprietary tactics engine, open source chess libraries and a deterministic branching tree to determine what is worth narrating. This will often get things wrong, be too vague, or sound repetitive. At the bottom of the coaching panel, if you use it, by default it is off in advanced mode, are thumbs up and thumbs down buttons for providing feedback regarding the written material and verbal coaching narration. Crowd sourced feedback using these controls is greatly appreciated and goes into improving the product with each new iteration.
Cheers!
